I Don't Dance - Blog Tour/Review

Hi everyone! Today, I'm joining several other bloggers in celebrating with author Jesseca Wheaton and her newest book release I Don't Dance!

Ever since I read Jesseca Wheaton’s first novel, I’ve excitedly looked forward to each one of her new releases.

While I usually stick to Historical fiction genre, I was very interested when Jesseca announced that she would be releasing a short, contemporary romance story entitled, “I Don’t Dance..."

About The Book:

Ty and Jen have been friends for nearly as long as anyone can remember. But when Ty goes off to college and leaves her behind, he has to face the reality that he cares for her as more than just a friend. As graduations approaches and with only one summer left before he begins basic training, Ty must make a decision. Military life is never easy; is it fair to force it on the one he loves? In the midst of wrestling with the question and coming to the realization that summer is quickly drawing to a close, Ty struggles to face questions he cannot answer, and is forced to examine his own heart. Is it possible that God has a future for him with Jen? Or will the summer close with only memories of days gone by? Their relationship would be old fashioned. But that was okay. Because old fashioned and whimsical fit perfectly with a southern summer.

About the Author:

Jesseca is a daughter, sister, and a child of God. Her days are spent reading, cooking, spending time with siblings, or playing piano. And writing, of course! At an early age words fascinated her, and her love for the printed page has only grown. She lives with her parents and seven siblings in the sunny state of Kansas, and she’s convinced there’s no place like home.

My Review of "I Don't Dance:"

I received a copy of I Don't Dance for a honest review :)

Ty was my favorite character. He wasn’t too perfect and struggled with some tough life decisions. I loved how he cared so much about Jenny and cared about her life, and about how his decisions would dramatically affect her life.

Though the humor between Ty and Mike was funny at first, the joking back and forth got to be a little too much after awhile, although I loved when Mike became a chaperone. It was hilarious!

Jenny was sweet. She respected Ty’s struggles and patiently waited for him to discover God’s will for his life. I loved that she liked to wear jean skirts! I really liked that. :) While I liked how kind and gentle Jenny was, I would have like to see more character change. Perhaps some more struggle.

Doughnuts, anyone? I loved the doughnut part! *smile*…can’t say anything more…

The story was well written and for the most part easy to follow. The ending was very sweet…Doughnuts again! Yes, wonderful doughnuts. :)

I give this story 4 out of 5 stars. :)

Jesseca Wheaton did an excellent job with this story, and I definitely recommend it to everyone looking for a sweet, summer read! Thumbs up Jesseca!
