A week of learning how to have excellence in the arts...and in everything we do
Last week I attended the Lamplighter Guild in Mt. Morris NY. The Lamplighter Guild is a spinoff of Lamplighter Ministries, the company that publishes Lamplighter Books.
It was an incredible week of meeting new people and creating different scripts, audio dramas, and theatre sketches. I said in my last post that I was going to a writing conference...but it was so much more!
I'm breaking my experience up into several parts so everything isn't lumped together in one long post.
1. Wednesday - What is the Guild
2. Saturday the 21st - Sunday/Monday overview
3. Monday the the 23rd - Tuesday/Wednesday overview
4. Wednesday the 25th - Thursday/Friday overview
What is Lamplighter Guild?
A CALL TO GLORY IN EXCELLENCE
A renaissance of creative excellence that inspires one to know God intimately, proclaim Him passionately, and enjoy Him infinitely. "The Lamplighter Guild is a choreographic platform that invites an encounter with God's divine power, fueled by an intimate knowledge of His Word, and galvanized by His promises, whereby students can engage in a partnership with His divine nature."
- Mark Hamby (II Peter 1)
The Lamplighter Guild consists of six days of life-transforming inspiration and instruction in the arts. Surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation, master teachers from around the world present instruction in story creation, scriptwriting, stage and voice acting, sound design, digital music composition, photography, filmmaking, painting, and biblical theology. Mornings open with scripture, prayer, and insights from world-class speakers, followed by intensive sessions in each discipline. Students receive hands-on instruction and discipleship in their chosen field of study throughout the day, along with inspiration from keynote speakers. The Guild is an awakening — a renaissance of creative excellence framed by the Word of God and demonstrated by faith. “You will never be the same!” "The Guild is an inspirational experience where faith meets purpose and where purpose ignites passion."
